Jessica and Todd squeak their Ottawa wedding into one of the last decent fall weekends
It’s easy to start so many wedding blog posts with “surrounded by close family and friends” that it can become mundane.
So it pains me to have to say it here – but it’s true.
Jessica and Todd’s great support network of loving family and friends really teamed together to help create a great fall wedding at Calabogie Peaks Resort.
In fact, a couple of their friends got together one weekend before the wedding to carve something like 30 pumpkins for table centre pieces. Those are people you want to have in your corner.
As with many fall weddings in and around Ottawa in October, the weather can be hit or miss. The closer you get to the end of the month the more volatile and unpredictable.
The best time to get married in Ottawa around fall is the last weekend in September and the first two weekends in October. That’s when the fall foliage around the Ottawa Valley and Gatineau Park is at its peak. This time of year is referred to as the Fall Rhapsody.
So while the colours around the resort weren’t at their peak, the muted colours and overcast skies painted their wedding in a unique palette.
Jessica and Todd included Moe, a small but valuable member of their family in the ceremony.
