Energetic Mother-Daughter family photography session in Ottawa’s Arboretum
I shot Holly’s Ottawa family photography session at the Arboretum in Ottawa during the last weeks of amazing fall colours.
I was first involved in Holly’s life during a very difficult time in her wife, Julia, passed away from cancer months earlier. While I didn’t get to meet Holly personally during that time I came to learn about her through friends.
So I was great to spend some quality time with her and her vivacious daughter, Addi, at the Arboretum.
My style of family photography is very active and free-flowing. As I have stated in Jasmine and Mehdi’s family photograph blog, family’s are active, dynamic entities and should be captured as such. Sure, I’ll take a family portrait but I prefer to take the kind of images that remind you, years later, what your family life felt like, not just how it looked.
With this documentary approach to Ottawa family photography, I’m happy to work with other, furry members of your family.
Julia brought a couple of her pups to the shoot too and we got some hilarious pics of those guys as well!
Photographed with Nikon D750, Nikon 85mm f/1.8, Tamron 35mm F/1.8.
